Use our Remote I/O modules with MODBUS

Brainboxes’ Remote I/O products can be used with the de facto language of industry

Brainboxes
announces Modbus TCP protocol now available on a range of Ethernet to DIO
products.

Brainboxes’
Ethernet to DIO devices have been building a reputation for their compatibility
and ease of use. To further enhance this the digital In/Out devices can now be
used with Modbus TCP protocol.

Modbus TCP
is a long standing industry protocol. Many systems, old and new, implement it.
Devices such as the ED-588 will now ‘talk’ Modbus allowing you to simply ‘slot’
a Brainboxes’ digital I/O module into existing Modbus TCP systems. Brainboxes
ED devices are a Modbus server (slave). They can cope with multiple Modbus
clients (masters) requesting information and connect to multiple varied pieces
of factory equipment.

If you have
already purchased an ED Ethernet to DI/O devices and wish to implement Modbus,
just go to our website and you can download the latest firmware update for
free.

Millions of devices world wide support Modbus

Modbus is a messaging structure between intelligent devices, think of it a little like universal language. It is a de facto standard, truly open, and the most widely used network protocol in the industrial manufacturing environment. It has been implemented by hundreds of vendors on thousands of different devices to transfer data between control devices.

Typical Applications include:

  • PLCs
  • HMIs
  • Gas and oil substations
  • Buildings Management
  • infrastructure & transportation
  • Sub sea and renewable energy
