Brainboxes launches 8 port Ethernet switch – meeting the demanding needs of industrial environments
Liverpool, England – 18th August 2016: Brainboxes
has launched the SW-608, an unmanaged 8-port Ethernet switch – their first in a
new range of tough metal cased products for the industrial market.
Luke Walsh, Managing Director of Brainboxes, comments: “We’ve
made adjustments to a number of our cases recently to make them smaller,
tougher and fit just right. The SW-608 is for all those who told us about demanding
applications where enclosed metal casing offers the best peace of mind. Every
part needed to be just right and we are really pleased with the look, feel and
functionality of this 8 port switch.”
The SW-608 is encased in a tough but light anodised aluminium
case. The body is extruded aluminium and unlike others on the market the ends
are die-cast offering a superior fit and finish.
Brainboxes’ SW-608 10/100 MB/s Ethernet switch, uses a 2K packet size to enhance bulk data transfer and
optimize system performance, has galvanically isolated ports
to provide safe operation in tough environments and extreme temperatures between -40ºC to +75ºC
(-40ºF to +167ºF).
Reliability is further enhanced with redundant dual power
inputs between +5V to +30V DC meaning a second power supply can be fitted as a
back-up to prevent down time should one power source fail.
The power input range means the SW-608 can be run from: a 24VDC factory floor
supply; a standard car battery, making it ideal for in-vehicle and aboard
boats; or even a computer USB port, using an optional accessory cable
(PW-650).
Easy to install into your existing network and taking up
minimal space, the SW-608 comes with a solid metal DIN rail clip to speed up
mounting inside a cabinet and designed with an “easy wire” feature using
removable numbered terminal blocks. Power consumption is optimised for maximum efficiency with a
power down mode for when the device is inactive.
