Brainboxes launch the BB-400 NeuronEdge Controller across three shows

Brainboxes launch a smarter way to know what’s happening on your
production line. The BB-400 NeuronEdge Controller combines industrial hardware
connections with the processing power of a Raspberry Pi Compute Module and the
possibilities of opensource software to offer a simple retrofit way to unlock
the potential of your equipment.

November sees three fantastic shows taking place across
Europe in the same week. Brainboxes have teamed up with RS Components for the
Smart factory Show, Liverpool, TME for Matelec, Madrid, and Meilhaus for
Electronica, Munich. Each exhibition has an interactive demonstration that shows
how easy it can be to start producing meaningful insight with the BB-400
NeuronEdge controller
.

The BB-400
NeuronEdge combines Brainboxes proven IO and serial connectivity with a range
of network connections to allow data to flow to the application of your choice.
The innovative design uses a Raspberry Pi Compute module and an Arduino to
provide edge processing. The Pi is supported by a power management system,
making it robust enough for the demands of industry.

The edge is where
the factory meets the network and communicates, this is a place where smart technologies
can show their worth. Machines constantly generate signals, but this raw data
has little meaning. It is usually when signals change that they become
interesting to us. Controllers with edge processing-power filter the noise down
to data that is worth sending out to the network or cloud – moving us from
machine to insight.

Having an edge
controller that gives you the flexibility of PC systems with open source API
programming options makes integration and customisation user friendly.

With modern software,
interpreting the outputs of common production hardware like lights and sensors
becomes simple. Combining insights from machinery of all types and ages can be
done through a preferred programming language, such as C# and Python or
visually in NodeRED, circumventing many of the interoperability issues that
have traditionally hampered integrated automation.

Brainboxes are
providing a solution that enables you to achieve a significant step on your Industry
4 journey out of the box.
