Brainboxes Get Teeth Into Revolutionary Technology with New Production Line

April 18, 2001 / News

Liverpool-based technology company Brain Boxes, one of only a handful of companies world-wide with two qualified Bluetooth™ products currently in production, has demonstrated its commitment to wireless communications by installing a second production line – one that is dedicated solely to the manufacture of accredited Bluetooth products.

For seventeen years, Brain Boxes have been at the forefront of mobile and serial communication as well as EPoS technology, and the company is unusual in that they design, develop and manufacture all their own products on-site. These products are then supplied to companies such as IBM, Reuters and ICL. Most recently, Brain Boxes has concentrated substantial resources and invested an estimated £2m on the development of Bluetooth products.

Brain Boxes’ Marketing Manager Stephen Evans explains the rationale behind the decision to commit to Bluetooth development: “We believe that over the next two to three years, Bluetooth wireless technology will develop to the extent where it is used by everybody in their day to day lives.”

We have been involved in the development of this technology throughout its infancy, and it seems logical that we should up our production commitment now that the technology is beginning to bear fruit out in the market place.”

The original production line will continue to produce the company’s PC communication cards, with the second line dedicated to building Bluetooth products. This re-organisation will ensure maximum productivity and efficiency as Brain Boxes continue to grow their product range.
