brainboxes world first: compact flash bluetooth card

Brain Boxes, the leading European designer and manufacturer of PC communications cards, today showed off the world's first Bluetooth Type I Compact Flash Card here in Las Vegas.

Brain Boxes is a member of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group and has been instrumental in the development of Bluetooth products for the past two years. The new Compact Flash card is compatible with Microsoft's Pocket PC operating system and is supported by Brain Boxes' Bluetooth Software Stack - one of the most widely used in the industry. It will enable seamless communication between portable devices including PDA's and mobile phones.

The prototype Compact Flash cards will also be on show at the Bluetooth Developers Conference in San Jose during December, and official commercial launch of the product is expected at the end of January 2001. Eamonn Walsh, Managing Director of Brain Boxes said: "Mobile computing devices are getting smaller all the time. Our new Compact Flash card demonstrates our commitment to providing new technologies in smaller form factors. Bluetooth wireless technology is an essential part of our strategy to become a world leader in the field of mobile data communications."
