ISO-14001 Accreditation
In this current climate of awareness and pressure to reduce industries impact on the environment Brainboxes has dedicated itself to continually evaluate and improve its environmental practices by achieving the ISO-14001 accreditation.
Brainboxes employed consultants from the Manufacturing Institute to carry out an independent environmental audit of the company. After receiving the results of this audit, Peter Gray, Brainboxes’ Quality Manager carried out a full review of our current policies and assessed the impact of our activities on the environment. This covered everything from the product design, production operations, creation and disposal of wastes, office practices, order shipping and transportation, including company car usage.
“Brainboxes sells into a global market where environmental awareness and concerns are increasingly important and customers are keen to work with suppliers who are raising standards and considering impact on the environment,” adds Eamonn Walsh, Managing Director of Brainboxes. “By achieving this widely acknowledged accreditation at an early stage, Brainboxes is once again able to offer our customers the level of confidence that they have come to expect from our products and services.”
What is ISO-14001?
The ISO-14001 accreditation is awarded in relation to an organisations environmental practices. It is an internationally recognised standard that encourages companies to evaluate their internal process and put in place an Environmental Management System with a process for continual improvement. This accreditation tries to strike a balance between profitability and environmental impacts and if this is evaluated correctly then both can flourish together within the organisation.
